Petralona Cave (West Coast)
In the Petralona area, you must visit the fantastic and highly significant Petralona Cave. Local residents of the wider region discovered the cave in 1959, which confirms the existence of human life approximately 700,000 years ago. Additionally, a skull found at the site is estimated to be around 200,000 years old. Stalactites patiently meet stalagmites over thousands of years, evoking awe and admiration in visitors.

Tower of Marianoi
It is one of the most characteristic examples of Byzantine architecture. The tower was built in 1374 by the monks of the Dochiariou Monastery and served as a center for accommodation and defense for the monastery’s dependency. The craftsmen who rebuilt it not only used stone but also mosaics, tiles, and architectural fragments (columns and pilasters) from the ruins of ancient Olynthus. at a height of about 15 meters.

Cholomondas
